Archive for January, 2010

The service for Suzie’s Bat Mitzvah was held in the morning.  Later in the evening, there was a reception at Granite Bay Golf Club to celebrate this extremely important day.  These next photos are of the set-up and decor.  The theme for the reception was musicals and theater since Suzie is very into acting and musicals.  The tables were named after her favorite musicals and plays, most of which she has been in.  The colors were burgandy (theater curtains) and gold (stars) and we made Suzie “the star of the show.”  I hung gold stars all over from the rafters at the venue.

The wonderful flower arrangements were designed by Brandi Richards of Party Petals (always a great job….thank you Brandi!).

The Torah shaped cake, which was decorated in Suzie’s favorite color, pink, was made by MaryAnn Marshall of Baker’s Delight here in Woodland.  The cake was marble with a rich chocolate filling and covered in buttercream frosting.  Really delicious!

That’s all for now.  I have one more post of pictures to share with you that shows just how much fun the guests had at the reception.  So until then….happy planning!

The professional pictures are here from Suzie’s November Bat Mitzvah.  Many thanks to Steven Stafford Photography for these!  In this post, I’ll focus on service which was held at Temple Or Rishon in Orangevale.  As I’ve mentioned before, Suzie did an amazing job during her service, and, as I think you can tell by these pictures, her parents were extremely proud of her.  It was a blast working with Suzie and her family and I can’t wait for her younger brother, Danny’s turn in a few years.  Enjoy the pics!

Here are some more of the professional pictures from Melanie and Dave’s September 2009 wedding at the Hotel Del Coronado.  The first one is of the happy couple just after the ceremony.  The others are some great shots on the beautiful beach at the hotel.  The weather that day couldn’t have been any more perfect and the ocean views were simply spectacular.  Enjoy!

I now have some of the professional pictures back from Melanie and Dave’s September 2009 wedding at the Hotel Del Coronado down in San Diego.  As I’ve said before, what a FABULOUS location to be married at!  Oh, and let’s not forget the fabulous couple who got married there.  Dave and Melanie were such a joy as were their families.  Here is part 1 of the pictures from that very happy day.

Here are the lovely ladies, all excited for the ceremony to start:

How about that ocean view?!  Isn’t it just amazingly beautiful?  This is the view of the ceremony area about an hour before start time.

Being married in the “shadow” of the very historic Hotel Del Coronado

Here is the happy couple performing the sand ceremony.  The groom’s parents brought sand from the Bay Area where he was raised, and the bride’s family brought sand from Colorado where she was raised.  They each poured their separate sand into one container.  This container was already partially filled with sand that I had collected the day before from the hotel’s beach.  What a beautiful symbol of two lives becoming one.

Finally, I’ll end on this photo of the happy couple during the ceremony.  In a few days, I’ll share some more.  Enjoy!

Happy New Year to all of you!  Out with 2009 and in with 2010.  It’s so hard to believe another year has passed by so quickly.  Heck, wasn’t it just 1999 and the world was going to come crashing to an end because of Y2K??  🙂  I guess it didn’t and here we are already 10 years later.

Seriously though, have you started on those resolutions yet?  For me, it’s the usual set…..lose weight, exercise more, eat better, blah, blah, blah….LOL!  Maybe that new Wii and Wii Fit Plus we got the family for Christmas will help with those goals.  However, I think I will simply try to keep my resolutions small and simple.  In addition to those listed above, taking a little more time for fun and appreciating the little things in life a bit more are being added to the list.  Also, perhaps posting a bit more on my blog will be top of the list (I know, I was TERRIBLE in December and didn’t post a thing).

Another thing to look forward to in the year to come are some changes to the look of my website.  Nothing too drastic, just updating and “polishing” a bit.  I’ll keep you posted on those.  I’m finally starting to get back professional pictures from my Fall weddings and events so I will be sharing those here in the days to come.

So please, everyone have a very happy, safe, and prosperous 2010!

Karen 🙂
